Marcus McGruder

Founder, Coach

Growing up an athlete and earning a 4-year athletic scholarship to Wake Forest University, followed by almost two decades in the fitness industry, I’ve experience a variety of coaching styles, as well as tested and refined my own training techniques.

I find the best coaches are excellent analysts and motivators who understand the WHY behind individual’s goals to not only get the best results, but maintain them in a healthy and positive way. I believe our job as Coaches at The Art of Fitness is to explore each client’s inner strength and beauty and encourage them to let it shine through to the outside so they can perform at their best.

I opened The Art of Fitness in 2014 envisioning it would be more than a place to workout, but also a sanctuary for people to come and become their best selves. A judgement-free, supportive and inspiring place to feel comfortable expressing oneself and seeking the truth of who they are and want to be. A place where people can uplift each other’s spirits, hold hope accountable and help one another navigate the trials and triumphs of life (and the workouts!).
